IUG

IUG:   An acronym for Industry Users Group. This is usually a select group of people who are already involved in a area of technology and have been formed into a committee to oversee either:

  The development of a computer system which will be used by the industry as a whole, or,

  The development of standards for the industry.

  Examples of IUGs include those established for the ETC project of the London Stock Exchange.
